Semponium 'Sienna'
- Description
- Light/Soil/Water
- Hardiness
-
Semponium ‘Sienna’ is part of a new hybrid genus created by crossing Sempervivum with Aeonium. The plant forms a rosette of long, slender leaves in bright lime green that gradually turn cherry red when exposed to strong sunlight. The smooth, slightly glossy leaves give the plant a bold and modern look.
This variety grows steadily and can branch over time, forming multiple rosettes. It prefers bright light, well-draining soil, and infrequent watering once the soil has dried. Because its cold tolerance is still uncertain, it is best protected from freezing temperatures and can be grown indoors in a sunny location during colder seasons. -
Filtered / Partial Sun, Full Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
