  • Opuntia Zion is a hardy prickly pear cactus known for its flat, paddle shaped pads that form an upright to spreading structure. The green pads may develop subtle bluish tones and can take on hints of red or purple under stress from sun or cooler temperatures. Fine spines and small glochids are present on the surface, adding texture and a classic desert appearance. This plant is shipped bare-root.                                                                                                                                                     
    As it matures, this variety produces additional pads, gradually forming a branching, sculptural clump. During the blooming season, it may produce showy flowers in warm tones followed by ornamental fruit. Opuntia Zion thrives in full sun and is highly drought tolerant once established.
