Aloe aristata 'Lunar Eclipse'
- Description
- Light/Soil/Water
- Hardiness
-
Aloe aristata ‘Lunar Eclipse’ forms a compact, perfectly shaped rosette of deep green leaves covered in bright white spots. The leaf edges are lined with fine white cilia, giving the plant a soft, fringed look. The thick leaves and dense white bumps create strong contrast, making the rosette look bold and eye-catching. Its neat, symmetrical form gives it a dramatic and almost celestial appearance.
This plant grows slowly and stays relatively small. In summer, it can send up a tall flower stalk, about 12 to 18 inches high, with tubular peach-colored flowers that attract pollinators. It may also produce small offsets around the base over time, which can be separated and replanted to grow new plants. -
Bright Indoor Light, Filtered / Partial Sun.
Gritty, well-draining soil is essential. Use a cactus and succulent mix with 70%-80% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Water infrequently. Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid letting water sit in the rosette to prevent rot.
